Corson began writing music in middle school and continued developing their skills through musical theater, a cappella, and instrumental music. They hold a bachelor’s degree in Theater and Performance Studies from the University of Chicago. Her thesis, A Twinklin’ Rhyme: Musically Adapting the Children’s Quest Novel, focused on music as a function of storytelling and received both general and departmental honors. As part of the project, Corson wrote the songs for a musical adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle and produced a concert to present them.
Her recent work has been featured in plays, concerts, workshops, and revues throughout the Midwest, including performances at the Den Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, and the Second City. They have spent time in several Chicagoland music groups. She is currently music directing a comedy special set to debut in early 2022.
Corson works on commission for custom music and song. If you’re looking to collaborate with them, drop a line today.
Introducing Co.operative, a one-year collaborative music project by thirteen Chicago singers. Follow our process here and at http://co.operative.live.Instagr...
Co.operative (@co.operative.live) is a collaborative music project by a group of singers in Chicago. We've sung in choirs and jazz bands, in the shower and in church. We are writers and performers, activists and employees, teachers and students. Over the coming year, we invite you to watch us conceive, compose, and produce an album-length original work. We'll show you our work as we create it and our process as we design it, from sketch to finished product. Along the way, we'll learn about collaboration, about ourselves, and about each other. We hope you'll join us.

“The real deal... mind-bogglingly talented, but even more than that, a true pro. [Corson’s] ability to know when (and how) to take the spotlight and when (and how) to help shed it on others reveals an impressive character.”
“Her composition strikes that balance between thoughtful and accessible that makes for really quality memorable tunes.”
“Corson is an amazing vocalist, an excellent musician, and a creative force!”
“Barnard’s numbers were emotional, reflective pauses, with a surprising depth and energy for a show that ran only thirty minutes. [She] possesses a keen sense of character.”
